July 10, 2016 – “How to” vs “Get to”

Ephesians 6:12 – For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Galatians 2:20-21 – I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!

It’s about changing your mindset in how you approach what you do: “Have to” vs “Get to.”  Realize everyday is a gift and everything is a choice to do.  We get to drive in traffic.  We get to listen to a missionary and who impact lives.  We get to go to a job while others are unemployed and struggling.  We get to raise children even though they drive us nuts! :).  We get to make a difference with co-workers, customers.  “We get to” do these things, but Christ lives in me!

Beware when you approach your walk as doing things because you “have to.”  You put conditions on your relation with Christ.  “Christ will love me if I do this, do that…”  You are boxing yourself!  When you approach as “getting to” there’s freedom! It’s not an obligation.  Get to serve! Get to give!

What would happen if your approach is “get to” with Christ in you The change of mindset is incredible.  The current state of society, non-believer, especially those who do not know Christ.  You view as getting to bring Jesus to life.
